Welcome to the Gayatri Mandir (GM)
Welcome to the Gayatri Mandir, a temple dedicated to the opening of hearts through song and celebration.
The Gayatri Mandir was created in 2014 as a sacred space for Deva Premal and Miten’s mantra singing and their work in supporting us to open our hearts and connect more deeply with ourselves, each other, and the nature in which we live. Other events are also welcomed when they share this same spirit.
Located in the village of Arillas in the northwest of Corfu, Greece, the Mandir is gently supported by the village’s relaxed and tolerant atmosphere, for which we are deeply grateful. As an open-air temple, whatever is offered here also reaches the wider community. The GM provides a safe and sacred environment for devotional offerings. It is not a space for catharsis; our meditation room is available for deeper personal expression when needed.
We are committed to honoring the local customs and rhythms of village life. For this reason, the GM follows a respectful and consistent schedule.
The day begins quietly, not before 7:30 am, allowing the calm of the morning to unfold gently. Most mornings include up to two sessions between 7:30/8:00 and 9:30/10:00 am, followed by the main morning session from approximately 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. All morning activities conclude by 1:30 pm, and quiet time begins at 2:00 pm.
Greek rest time, from 2:00 to 5:30 pm, is observed throughout the country and is fully respected here. We encourage everyone to embrace this beautiful custom — to rest, connect personally, or perhaps enjoy a refreshing swim in the sea during the warmth of the afternoon.
After 5:30 pm, activities may resume with meditation, practice, teachings, or sharing until around 7:30 pm. The main evening event typically begins at 8:15/8:30 pm, accompanied by the magic of breathtaking sunsets. The evening concludes by 10:30 pm, and silence returns by 11:00 pm.
This gentle rhythm creates a relaxing and nourishing experience for all, allowing time for rest, integration, and meaningful connection. In this environment, hearts open naturally and relationships deepen with ease.
